you're number one in my book!

If I close my eyes, I can still remember a time… filled with brown paper sacks, full of handmade cards and valentine sentiments…  Exchanging cards and yummie sweets with my fellow classmates is a favorite pastime of mine.  So when my sister asked if I could help out my nephew with this year's valentines, I was delighted!  (She's crafty herself!  She makes really pretty things…)  Anyhoo, she passed along the idea to me from Pinterest (linked to this blog)-

AND here is my version of these really neat bookmarks that he will get to pass out to all his friends this Valentine's Day!
They are so good, all the adults want one too!!
So which one's your favorite?  Hard to pick just one, I know…
happy reading friends

handcrafted pretties...

I recently had the pleasure of highjacking my unsuspecting
(not to mention gorgeous…) house guest,
to model a few handcrafted products I am completely in love with…

so first up, mrs. Z's designs.
I'm pretty sure I have one of her cowls in every size, shape, and color.
Now to just acquire a few more, hehe.  Sarah has a wonderful talent,
and seems to be able to make anything you can dream up!
From these beauties, to fingerless mittens, to baby booties, and hats…
just to name a few!  and just you wait til you see the ones she made for Grace!!

and now for another very talented lady…
I met Anneka some time ago through our hubbies.
She mailed me a few goodies…
along with a head & ear cozy… total surprise. & super cute.
the flower is removable and can be worn separately…
that's right, can you say bonus?
for more of her beautiful treasures, you can visit Knot Moxie.

Can't wait to share the rest of their pretties with you all!
So what are you waiting for?  Go check them out.
oh and be sure to mention I sent you…
to take advantage of an exclusive savings on your first purchase!!

it's the little things...

A bit of background on this one...  My hubby's squadron puts on an annual harvest auction around Thanksgiving.  The spouses put everything together, including baskets with loads of goodies.  It was in one of these baskets that I discovered someone with crafty talent.  Amongst my spoils was a gift certificate to her etsy store.  But it was the tiny tin that caught my eye, you'll never guess what was inside.  fabric covered push pins… oh yes, perfect for coveting.

I suppose you could say I have a tiny obsession with all things fabric covered… canvas, earrings, buttons, you name it, and I want it.  So of course I asked her if she had any more, and unfortunately the answer was no.  However she said she could make me some, no problem, and voila the finished product...

and then... a little surprise

what!?  seriously... a CHAIR push pin?  I know you all must be laughing at my level of excitement, but I absolutely cannot wait to have them in my hot little hands ( I guess I better get my cork up & ready).  And if push pins aren't your thing, she makes other fun stuff too...  Thanks Jaime, I'm positively giddy!!
find her on facebook & stay tuned for her newest etsy shop...
