ghost runners 5k dog run - web design
Volunteering for Heartland Weimaraner Rescue this past year has made me a busy little bee!! Not to mention it has been incredibly rewarding… (Hello! It's brought two special someones into my life… chicken little & big bird -insert big grin here.) I mean, what a great group of people- that are all about saving grey & blue furbabies. Donating my time has allowed me to put my love for graphics & design to good work… planning events, designing tees, constructing flyers, & even building a shiny, brand new website! Now our biggest fundraiser of the year is coming up soon, so you better mark your calendars… This event is unique, because it allows you to run with your dog. That's right I said it! Run with your dog. You know, the one you already train with everyday, because not only are you working on your own fitness, but you are trying to exercise that baby properly!? It's going to be a great time for the entire family, so I hope you'll join us this October 25th! -And here's a peek at the website I designed for the race! Below are a few screenshots, so be sure to visit the site for all the details and to sign up!! See you there friends!

bake & take - graphic + web design
A client of mine's been coming to me for a variety of lessons, and I'm pleased to say we have struck up a happy little friendship! So when she turned to me asking for a blog re-design… of course I jumped right on it! Every week she pops in her kitchen and bakes up the most wonderful, yummie delights! And I get to sample them… naturally, it's only fair. I am currently claiming that her lemon scones were out of this world. Honestly, I never even told my hubby about them, all because I didn't want to share!! What!!? Don't judge me. Please see number 17- random things about me. Anyways, I wanted to share her blog with all its fabulous recipes and the new re-design with you all! bake and take - the blog -by Gwyn Day

social media buttons: clean & simple.
weeeeee!!!
So along with my new simpler, redesign… I am smiling ear to ear about my new, colorful social media buttons! I know! fun stuff. Changing my layout and widening the right column allowed me to squeeze them together, so they could all be one big happy family! And with just a little bit of Photoshop and HTML knowledge, you can customize them to your heart's content!
which of course means my little share buttons needed some updating as well…
a big thanks to the blog decorator for her great little tutorial on the subject!

pure desktop magic
Been in the midst of a MAJOR cleanup & overhaul of my laptop, computer, and multiple hard drives… let's just say, not very fun (and seemingly never-ending). However I'm discovering it does have its rewards! I am constantly changing my desktop wallpaper to reflect my mood or the season. And as I was doing some reorganizing, I ran across an old favorite- which of course got my creative juices flowing… and well… welcome to my new desktop!
I got the idea for this little gem a long while back from The CoffeeShop Blog, which resulted in my first attempt at this lovely little desktop, which I admired for a long time (and still do… just needed a little visual update is all)!

it's the little things...
A bit of background on this one... My hubby's squadron puts on an annual harvest auction around Thanksgiving. The spouses put everything together, including baskets with loads of goodies. It was in one of these baskets that I discovered someone with crafty talent. Amongst my spoils was a gift certificate to her etsy store. But it was the tiny tin that caught my eye, you'll never guess what was inside. fabric covered push pins… oh yes, perfect for coveting.
I suppose you could say I have a tiny obsession with all things fabric covered… canvas, earrings, buttons, you name it, and I want it. So of course I asked her if she had any more, and unfortunately the answer was no. However she said she could make me some, no problem, and voila the finished product...
and then... a little surprise
what!? seriously... a CHAIR push pin? I know you all must be laughing at my level of excitement, but I absolutely cannot wait to have them in my hot little hands ( I guess I better get my cork up & ready). And if push pins aren't your thing, she makes other fun stuff too... Thanks Jaime, I'm positively giddy!!
find her on facebook & stay tuned for her newest etsy shop...

material girls
Did I mention, I LOVE DESIGN? I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Interior Design. I suppose I should credit that time of my life to discovering my creativity (I was probably better suited for law, any classmate would attest to that). And although I am not currently practicing the art of Interior Design for others... I have a few very inspiring colleagues and friends who are. Meet a few of the Material Girls...

Her name is Emily Johnston, and she is seriously the cutest little thing. A random tidbit of hilarity... it is rumored that a college professor said she would never be a Designer. Whoa, wait... back up, WHAT?? Well I'm here to tell you... she most certainly IS a Designer, and a damn fine one at that!!

Her name is Lauren Haskett, and her sense of fashion is absolutely ridiculous... Her creativity is endless, and I distinctly remember she was always someone you wanted on your team. She resides in Houston and currently specializes in kitchen and bath design.
Together, their ambition amazes me, so I'm adding them to my list of fabulous people. They are the Founders of a hip, fresh, & quite impressive blog which I rather enjoy. Check it out, you'll be happy you did.
